You know of something under construction in SH?

This is an old longtang off Jianguo Lu near Wulumuqi that has been bought by Morgan Stanley in partnership with the Portman Group. My understanding is that they are "renovating" the outside structures (and by renovating this means tearing them down and then using the same materials to rebuild. The same way as XianTianDi). It will be ultra high-end lane houses/service apartments when completed in 2009. It was REALLY contraversial becuase it was over a thousand people who had to be bought off to convince them to move. This took 5+ years and the project has only recently broken ground. They are currently hard at work on the demolition phase. I have snuck onto the construction zone a few time to take pictures and will happily continue to track it if you are interested... melanie
